Dress Up Summer Style

Image 31-05-2017 at 10.58

Here at Iris we tend to channel a chic and bohemian relaxed look but don’t imagine for a minute we can’t rise to the challenge of the perfect outfit for a more dressed up event when the occasion demands it!

As tempting as it is to waft through summer in a floaty cotton maxi dress as the temperatures rise, the season is awash with special occasions that require more dressed up styles. From summer weddings to Chelsea Flower show, to garden parties or even Ascot to a simple summer pub night or sophisticated dinner date with someone special we have a dresses and even a few jumpsuits that will take you to any summer occasion in perfect style.

Wedding Belles

Up the wedding dress style stakes this summer in this striking cobalt blue silk dress from much-loved Spanish brand Masscob. In a subtle geometric printed pure silk fabric it has a flattering cinched in waist and modern asymmetric hem. The addition of heels and a sparkly clutch will give this dress just the amount of glamour to take you to the chicest of weddings in style.

Blue Dress

Garden Party Chic

Dress up jumpsuits have been a fashion trend this season and this striking silk style from M.I.H in bright green with a fun rainbow waistband is simply stunning. Style it with our gold Jude wedge sandals from Penelope Chilvers and a splash of jewellery and you will be super glamorous, yet still comfortable enough for a day of fun in the sun.

Date Night

A summer evening date night requires a special dress . This Vanessa Bruno maxi style crafted from bright coral silk is stunning and needs simply a pair of stylish flat sandals to complete the look.

Summer Pub Fun

Dress up in sexy chic style for a relaxed summer evening spent in a (hopefully balmy!) pub garden. We love this metallic gold top from Masscob which features this seasons on-trend frilled sleeves and lurex details that are perfectly designed to glint in the evening sun. Add a pair of skinny jeans, heels and a clutch and you will be good to go.

Goldtop

A Glam Cocktail Party

A summer cocktail party calls for a fun and flirty style and this Custommade dress ticks the box. Styled here with gold leather espadrilles and a fringed metallic clutch which will add some sunshine fun to this ever classic LBD

Iris Fashion Creative Director Annie Pollet

Creative Director at IRIS Annie Pollet picks a few of her favourites from the gorgeous S/S17 collections

IMG_1131“It’s always difficult at the start of a season with the stores brimful of newness to choose your favourites, but I have selected a few gorgeous pieces that will form the basis of my Spring/Summer wardrobe and see me through the season in style

Isabel Marant Nadela Jumpsuit

I love a jumpsuit it’s such an easy everyday style that can be thrown on with a pair of trainers and flat sandals and looks effortlessly chic and cool.

There is so much pink in the collections this season and this Nadela jumpsuit (as seen here in Stylist Magazine) comes in a gorgeous dusty pink shade which is both flattering and so easy to wear I will be styling this for Spring with my favourite Isabel Marant Bart trainers.

AnnieNadela

Isabel Marant Bart Trainers

Trainers continue to be a no 1 fashion choice in footwear andthis suits me fine as when you are running around London or Paris to buying appointments you need to be comfortable!

The Bart trainers are my absolute favourite with the preppy feel of a pair of Stan Smiths they have a slightly raised sole to give a tiny bit of extra height and are super-chic this season in white and black. I love jazzing mine up by wearing them with lurex socks from French brand Soeur.

IMG_0740

by IRIS Iletta Daisy Print Jacket

This is my top pick from the by Iris collection this season. I love a soft cotton padded jacket and it is such a great item to wear as a cover-up while the weather is still a bit chilly. This Daisy Print jacket is brilliantly reversible so can be worn as a simple black jacket with the sleeves rolled up to show just a flash of the print or vice versa. I will be wearing this popped over a linen vest top with my favourite M.I.H Pheobe boyfriend jeans and a pair of Marant Dicker boots or K Jacques sandals in high summer.

Daisy Jacket

A.P.C Sailor Jeans

We have bought this minimal, yet uber chic brand virtually since Iris first opened and it has a firm fashion following in our stores. This season it has an extra popularity surge with our customers loving their Breton stripes and subtly frilled denim shorts. I made a beeline for their denim Sailor jeans as soon as they hit the store, they are crafted in non-stretch denim and the high waist fit really holds you in, the cropped flared style is very on-trend for this season and is great for easy summer dressing when worn with flats and a smock style top.

APCSailor

Ulla Johnson Neela Dress

I am obsessed with this dress! The gorgeous print, the perfect fit (which flatters every body shape) and the light, gauzy chiffon fabric which makes it ideal for sunny days in London or as an uber stylish holiday dress. We are only in our second season with US brand Ulla Johnson but her dresses and tops really have a wow factor and have proved to be super popular at Iris. This dress needs so little accessorising – a pair of flat K Jacques sandals and I will be good to go.

Louise Misha Adele Jumpsuit

I have recently had a baby girl – well she is actually 15 months now and is finally fitting into a few of our little Iris styles rather than just the baby gros! I could not do my favourite seasonal picks without including a style for her from the heavenly Louise Misha collection, a French brand that creates the most gorgeous girly, bohemian styles. This Adele jumpsuit is just the right side of girly in a muted pink colourway with a fun & funky neon pink tassel tie and embroidery and now she is walking she will be able to wear it with little leather sandals on holiday this summer..I can’t wait!

Lifestyle and fashion blog Little Spree comes to IRIS

Lifestyle and fashion blog Little Spree comes to IRIS

We are delighted to be joining with fashion and lifestyle blog, LITTLE SPREE for a special event at our Chiswick store.

Come along for an afternoon of Summer wardrobe inspiration, friendly chat, an exclusive discount, and a glass (or two) of prosecco, plus cupcakes and entertainment for the little ones. Founder and Editor of Little Spree, Sarah Clark will be on hand for any styling tips and advice. Sarah has also invited EDIT58, one of her favourite interiors brands to join her on the day.

Put Saturday 6th May 2-6pm in your diary, with the full details of the day to follow.

LittleSpreeInsta2

LITTLE SPREE started in 2011 as an essential resource for busy, fashion conscious mums: an insiders guide to dressing your kids in a beautiful and stylish way, without maxing out your credit card. Mixing high street finds with the occasional spurge for a cool, stylish and accessible edit of the best things out there for your babies, toddlers and kids. Mama Spree was added in 2013 (same concept, but this time for all the stylish mamas who were already hooked on the Little Spree posts for their children), Born from constant requests from stylish followers who also wanted to dress in a cool, but practical way that definitely avoided anything mumsy, Mama Spree is the same affordable style, but this time, just for Mums!

Little Spree Sarah

First and foremost a Fashion Editor – having worked in fashion for over fifteen years, at magazines including Marie Claire, Glamour, Red, and most recently as Fashion Editor at Large at The Sunday Telegraphs Stella magazine, Sarah is also a freelance stylist and art director, who juggles the blog around work and family life. “With My background its safe to say that I love clothes, but when I had the twins (Tabitha and Marlow, collectively known as Tabarlow) in 2010, everything shifted and my focus quickly became all about them and how to dress them in a stylish way on a limited budget. I became obsessed with finding the perfect pair of first shoes, Winter coat, cashmere cardigan (not one, but two of everything) that wouldnt break the bank, but were still gorgeous. I quickly realised that it could be done, it was just a case of re-tuning my well-trained eye to gorgeous things, just in much smaller sizes; and looking in places that Id never even considered before. I started sharing my finds with my friends with children, and they all urged me to start my own blog; to share them with a wider audience. So Little Spree was born. I only feature things on the site that I genuinely love and really think are worth buying (without exception), and usually that means, someone in my family is already wearing it. And trust me I am very picky!! Im just as picky about the toys, books, gifts and nursery/bedroom ideas that I feature too”.

“If you’re not familiar with IRIS, it’s a gorgeous little boutique (such a rarity these days with all the online giants and high street stores), stocking a cleverly curated edit of the most gorgeous, but ultimately wearable brands. If you’re looking for head-to-toe runway looks, this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for a one-stop shop of cool, but low-key pieces (many with that slightly pretty, folky vibe I always gravitate to) that you didn’t even know you wanted, let alone needed until you started browsing the racks, this is definitely the place you’ll want to be.”

Edit58head2

Interiors brand edit58 was conceived by self-confessed interiors junkie and rug addict Lisa Mehydene. An avid traveller with an enviable eye for must-have pieces, Lisa launched edit58 as a platform to share the irresistible finds shes collected, combined with her own unique design spin. Lisa will be in store on the day with a few of her pieces, which will be available to purchase.

Lisa says “IRIS is My favourite local fashion boutique with the best brands and the best edit of what those brands have to offer. The cherry on top being that I can also shop for my children at the same time, thanks to the brilliantly curated Little Iris offering”.

edit58’s aesthetic ties in perfectly with that of Iris and the brands stocked. Both place importance and emphasis on individual, unique and covetable pieces that you will own for years to come.”

Bella Freud at IRIS

bellalogo

When it comes to slogan sweaters, nobody does it better than Bella Freud. When Kate Moss famously wore the Ginsberg is God jumper back in the early noughties, the label developed a cult following overnight. Bella’s quirky designs, featuring pop art references, have since earned her many devoted fans including Alexa Chung and Laura Bailey. Supermodel Gigi Hadid wore a specially commissioned God created Gigi for a Vogue shoot earlier this year, cementing Bella’s status as the Queen of cult knitwear.

bellacomp3

Bella is the daughter of acclaimed artist Lucien Freud, who was responsible for coming up with the Bella Freud logo, a line drawing of his whippet, Pluto. She launched her own label in 1990, with a ready to wear collection, and a catwalk show starring Kate Moss. However, it wasnt until she decided to focus on knitwear that things really took off.

lucianfeud bella-freud-2

The first stand-alone shop opened on Chiltern Street in Marylebone last year. During the recent London fashion week, fashion blogger Alex Steadman, of the frugality, hosted an event at the shop, and wore the fabulous Anita Pallenberg jumper, which has been a sell-out. Other fashion bloggers, such as the fashion_lift and the stylist and the wardrobe have been quick to follow suit and have been wearing Bella Freud on social media.

bellafugalitycomp6

Iris is delighted to be stocking Bella Freud this season. We love the bright red 1970 jumper, one of the coolest motifs, which has been selling like hot cakes. For those favouring a more understated look, check out the multi coloured heart sweater – just the thing to brighten up a pair of black trousers. We also love the Je Taime Jane sweater, which Bella created for Jane Birkin after she misread the Ginsberg is God for Gainsbourg is God. This style has to be one of the most loved and iconic of them all. So if youre looking for a great investment piece that you can wear with anything from jeans to metallic skirts, look no further than a Bella Freud jumper. It is bound to be something you will wear season upon season.

Ps. If you want to buy into the Bella Freud world, but dont want to splurge on a sweater, Iris also stocks a range of candles and matches, all featuring her playful designs.

Investment dressing at IRIS

While many of us are only just putting the Summer clothes away, the fashion savvy have been busy choosing their investment buys for the season, ensuring they wont miss out on the best styles. When it comes to investment dressing, you need to be sure you wont tire of these pieces in years to come. The golden rule is not to follow seasonal trends, but go for solid, stylish pieces that will stand the test of time.

look-243

The APC Abyse coat is a great example. You cant go wrong with this classic double-breasted navy coat. Simple, yet stylish, this will look as lovely in five years time as it does now. Or the black single breasted coat from Soeur is another great buy. When you think of the cost per wear for either of these coats, the investment will be worth it.

wowwjaa60017_nav_2 wowwjaa60003_nav_3

Nows a good time to pick your Winter bag. The Isabel Marant Mela bag is roomy enough to use everyday and super stylish with the eyelet detail. We also love the Jerome Dreyfuss Igor style a bestseller that people use season after season. Its a classic that will never date.

wowabaa60005_blk_1 wowabaa60008_nav_1

When it comes to boots, ankle boots seem to go with just about everything and can be worn all year round. The classic Dicker boot in black suede from Isabel Marant will give you so much wear, and are super comfortable. Knee high boots are also a great investment, and we love the Isabel Marant Robby style.

Think about the basics you need in your wardrobe, and choose pieces that will never go out of fashion. Buy the best quality you can afford, and you wont regret it.

Indian Summer Dressing at IRIS

Thankfully we have been eased into Autumn with a spell of lovely warm sunshine. There’s something so nice about making the most of these last days of warmth, and wearing your Summer sandals and dresses. Trans-seasonal dressing is something that brands are embracing, in response to our unpredictable weather and seasons. Whereas in the past, we would get two main collection drops of Spring Summer and Autumn Winter, we now get many more deliveries throughout the year, (pre Spring and pre Fall) which keep things fresh and ensures you always see something new at IRIS.

masscobprint

Isabel Marant Etoiles Savory lurex maxi dress or the Samoa lurex smock are perfect dresses to wear now. Light enough to wear with sandals, and then add tights, boots and a chunky cardigan when the chill sets in. The Masscob Print Peasant Dress is another great buy working equally well in Winter as it does in late Summer. These are hard working pieces that you can wear all year round.

lurex-dress-insta

If dresses arent your thing, why not try one of our long, floaty skirts. Our favourites are the Silvio lurex skirt by Isabel Marant Etoile, and the printed silk midi skirt by Masscob. Wear with a simple camisole top and sandals now, before switching to Dicker boots or Robby knee boots and layering knitwear.

Jumpsuits are another great alternative to dresses and ideal trans-seasonal pieces. Our favourites are the Custommade prana print and the Ulla Johnson Alexi.

New Brand Ulla Johnson

Ullalogo3

We are so excited about our new brand, Ulla Johnson. Known for her incredible prints and embroidered detailing, (think Masscob mixed with Isabel Marant), we feel sure it will be a big hit with our customers.

One of our favourite pieces is the Annushka Victoriana lace blouse. The fluted three quarter sleeve detail is so pretty, and looks amazing with jeans or smart black trousers.Annushka_Gardenia_Detail

Another stand out piece is the Clementine dress, which has a lovely floral print. Special enough to wear to any special occasion with heels and will also look great as a winter floral day dress with suede ankle boots and a chunky cardigan.

Clementine_Crimson_2

Add a vibrant splash of colour to your wardrobe with the floral print Charlotte blouse which comes in a striking shade of red. A super feminine style with ruffles at the sleeve and hem it will look great paired with any denim or slim trouser styles

martha2

Rachel: I love the print of the Kirei sari print tunic dress, and the combination of blues. Its a great shape for Summer, it will look nice with trainers or sandals.

sari-print-tunic_423

Sarah: The Aloe Mae printed silk dress is a great price for 100% silk, and it can be wore smart with heels, or casual with flats.

Image 23-06-2016 at 10.31

Annie: I like the Mes Demoiselles black and gold maxi skirt. This is my choice as bohemian maxi skirts are bang on trend for this season and this gorgeous, black soft cotton maxi skirt from French brand Mes Demoiselles is one of the best I have seen. Easy to wear for day with a pair of flat sandals and a simple tee, but the gold detail in the cotton lends it a touch of glamour making it perfect for a summer evening out too.

WOWWSKS60010_BLK_2

Jo: It has to be the Kasuri kimono jacket from Ace & Jig, which is my favourite new brand of the season.

Grace: Mine are the Masscob fringed cropped jeans, and the Heli Muslin Frill Top – it would be a shame to buy one without the other :)

Lori: The Isabel Marant Cana print espadrilles are great. They are so comfortable and I love the unusual paisley print. Theyre easy to wear with most things.

Alice: I love the Ba&sh Drice tie dye print top. Its perfect for my travels to Asia.

Claire: My top pick from the sale would be the Ace & Jig Kasuri playsuit, as I love the texture of the fabric, and it is so soft to wear. The style is so relaxed, it would be a great staple in my wardrobe. It looks just as good with flat sandals, or dressed up with a chunky heeled sandal.

A day with the London Chatter

IN CONVERSATION WITH

LClogo

We were delighted when fashion blogger Kelly Eastwood of The London Chatter came to our Queens Park store. As a local, Kelly was very happy to be photographed out and about in her favourite picks from IRIS for Summer.

“Iris is a great local neighbourhood boutique. There’s always something in there that you’ll want to buy. It’s great for kids, things for holidays and basics, especially the IRIS own brand. Queens Park is a great family friendly area, but it’s so close to Kensal Rise and Notting Hill, which have lots of great bars. It’s got a vibrant, eclectic feel, and the park is really wonderful.”

KELLY’S TOP PICKS

MASSCOB Savina White Paisley Dress: “I’d never heard of Masscob before but I was immediately drawn to this dress. It’s so ethereal and boho, and the print is lovely. You could wear it with flip flops on holiday or in London in the Summer months. It translates easily from beach to city. It’s annoying to have a holiday wardrobe that doesn’t work in the city.”

ZAN ZAN Avida Dollar Sunglasses:” I’m a big fan of pink sunglasses they are much softer than tortoiseshell. These ones are really elegant with the contrast of pinks. Zan Zan is such a cool brand.”

DEBORAH CADBY Leaf Necklace: “This necklace is so pretty and feminine.”

MIH JEANS Saint All-in-one: “I lived in a boiler suit during the Winter. I’m a real denim girl and this one is really lightweight. You could dress this up or down. It doesnt feel like a heavy look as there isn’t a lot of metalwork. It looks great with white trainers. Jumpsuits are the best things to take on holiday as you can dress them up or down.”

IRIS Pom Pom Clutch :”I absolutely love pom poms and this clutch will add a fun colour pop to any outfit.”

MASSCOB Calma Lace Panel top, FRAME JEANS Le Skinny Crop Jeans: “I love this top. It’s loose fitting, has gorgeous frills it’s a lot of my favourite things rolled into one. It’s the perfect Summer top. It’s demure and yet a bit sexy at the same time as its a bit see through. I love the fit of these skinny jeans they are so lightweight and soft.”

IRIS Gladiator Sandals:“I love gladiator sandals – especially ones that don’t go up all the ankle. The lacing on these one are really flattering and I love the coppery colour. They’re also really comfortable.”

JEROME DREYFUSS Gary Gold Fringe Bag: “I’ve been a Jerome Dreyfuss fan for a really long time. I love the tassels on this one. It’s a really Summery bag and great for evening.”

Celebrate Spring at IRIS

Spring is most definitely in the air (and Summer’s not far behind!) Now’s the time to finally put away the Winter coats and cashmere, and bring out the maxi dresses, boho tops and sandals. At IRIS we have an amazing selection of pretty tops and dresses to see you through the Summer season.

starmela

Top of our wish list is the Gat Rimon white embroidered maxi dress. Wear with flats or espadrilles for a really simple, beautiful look. We are also loving the Mes Demoiselles collection this season. For the ultimate in boho chic, try one of their maxi dresses with lurex stripes . Pair with some K Jacques flats on holiday, and add a denim jacket to wear in the city. The Mes Demoiselles maxi skirts are equally wearable just add a simple vest top or camisole.

WOWWDRS60064_WHT_2 WOWWDRS60056_BLK_2

If there’s one label that ticks all the boxes for Summer dressing, it’s Star Mela. We are in love with the Allie embroidered dress, which comes in two colourways. Or try one of their embroidered tops with jeans. Nothing could be simpler.

WOWWTOS60106_CRE_2 WOWWDRS60081_WHT_2

Don’t forget about the accessories. Whether its the Jerome Dreyfuss Gary gold fringe bag, or the IRIS own brand multi-colour clutch, there is something for every occasion. And our gladiator sandals ( as seen on fashion blogger The London Chatter) are proving to be very popular indeed. The burnt gold goes with pretty much anything and they are super comfortable.

Whether you’re planning ahead for your Summer holiday, or just want to update your wardrobe, IRIS has got it covered.

Stylist Martha Ward

We were thrilled to team up with stylist Martha Ward for a special piece on her favourite picks from IRIS this season. We have long been fans of her effortless style, (as seen on her instagram@marthaward ) and were delighted when she came to our Chiswick store to make her Summer wardrobe edit.

martha2

“What I love about IRIS is that they unearth brands that you won’t find elsewhere such as Kirei and Ace and Jig, and there is something very rewarding about wearing a new label that no one’s seen before. They pick up on the less commercial brands as well as the lesser known ones, and have a different buy to other boutiques”.

Martha’s Top Picks from IRIS

BA&SH Vianey embroidered dress. “Although this might seem at first like a perfect holiday piece, there’s no reason why you couldn’t wear it to a Summer party. I love the embroidered detail. By day I’d wear it with flat sandals, lots of bangles and earrings, and swap to a heeled sandal for evening”.

KIREI Striped top and Marrakech MIh jeans.” I love an unconventional stripe, and I love the fact this top is not an obvious blue – it’s quite vintage-y. It has lovely ladder stitch detail and is a great blouson shape. It looks amazing with the MiH Marrakech jeans, which are the perfect vintage, faded blue”.

MWlace2

MASSCOB Calma Lace Blouse.“I’m a sucker for macrame and lace – this is a dream blouse. It would look super-cool with cropped jeans or shorts.”

IMG_2365

BA&SH Manon Top“This is a really pretty peasant top which is a big trend this season. It can be worn anywhere with anything. I love the combination of blue and white for Summer and I love the added little polkadot detail”.

IMG_3347

IRIS Quilted JacketI’m a big fan of a lightweight Summer jacket, especially living in England. You can’t leave the house without one! I love the quilted aspect and the fact that it’s reversible if you don”t feel like wearing the print, you can go for the plain side.”

LOUISE MISHA Tomete & Abelia Clutch BagI’m never without a little pouch bag and this one is sure to turn any plain outfit into something more interesting due to the sequin and tassel detail.”

New Brands at Iris Fashion

ACE & JIG and GAT RIMON

IRIS is delighted to be stocking two new labels this season, Ace & Jig and Gat Rimon. Ace and Jig is a hip brand from New York, created by two friends who share a love of textiles. They are known for creating beautiful unique fabrics, using hand woven techniques from India. Each piece is beautifully soft, and easy to wear. Our favourite pieces are the patchwork kimono jacket, which would look amazing with jeans and the Kasuri dress, featuring cute pockets.

acekimono acetrousers

IRIS already stocks some of the best French designers such as Isabel Marant and Ba&sh, and now we can add Gat Rimon to the list. Designed by three life long friends, Gat Rimon produces cool statement pieces as well as everyday essentials all with a distinctly Parisian flair. We love the boho maxi dresses and peasant tops just the thing to take on your Summer holiday.

Denim Rules

denimblog

Denim seems to always be in fashion, and this season is no exception. At Iris, we stock some of the coolest denim brands around. MiH, as worn by countless fashionistas, continues to wow us with their new styles and denim separates. As the fashion world is trying to lure us away from our skinnies, the on-trend style for 2016 is the cropped flare, ideally with fraying. Top of our list is the Mih Lou style, which will be hitting the stores and will be online soon, so keep an eye out. The Marrakech kick flare will also be a big hit this season. Embrace the wider leg silhouette by adding wedges, and keeping the top half simple and fitted.

For those who prefer a slim leg, the Mih Paris jeans are one of our favourites. With a slightly cropped leg, this straight slim fit are perfect jeans for Summer. If you like a relaxed style, then the boyfriend jeans from either Frame or Reiko are ideal. Roll them up at the ankle, wear them low on the hips, and its a very easy, everyday look. And for those who love the old faithful skinnies, then Frame, Reiko and Hudson all have fabulous fits.

denim

Aside from jeans, IRIS also have some fabulous denim skirts. Channel your inner Farrah Fawcett with the MiH 70s inspired A-line skirt. Team with APC wedges and a tucked in shirt for dressed down perfection. The denim jumpsuit is also bound to be a best seller.

Denim looks great with just about anything. We are big fans of double denim or mixing shades of blue with denim. Check out our chambray dresses too, which give you the denim feel in a softer fabric.

However you wear your denim, IRIS has a style for you.

LOOK AHEAD TO SPRING SUMMER AT IRIS

It’s never too early to think about Spring Summer pieces, even if we are dealing with an Arctic blast! New pieces have been arriving daily here at IRIS, and Spring Summer 16 is looking gorgeous.

The Masscob collection features beautiful ruffled tops, floral tunics, and embroidered coats. Our stand out piece is the 70’s style boho dress which is sure to be a big hit. There are lots of beautiful prints from Isabel Marant Etoile. We love her trademark floaty silk chiffon dresses, paisley jumpsuits and embroidered tunics. IRIS will be stocking lots of different Marant shoe styles this season – the flat paisley espadrilles would be the perfect addition to your Spring wardrobe, as well as the wedge sandals and new suede Bart trainers.marantss16

MiH have done some of the prettiest tops we’ve seen, especially the sleeveless ruffled styles. Look out for the denim jumpsuit and A line denim skirts. Ba&sh and Soeur have both done beautiful Spring collections with plenty of easy to wear pieces in fabulous prints.

SARAH CLAASSEN – Co-owner of IRIS

Where will you be spending Christmas?

Hopefully in my boyfriends new pub in Buckinghamshire.

What will you be wearing on Christmas Day?

My Ba&sh Illy maxi dress. It makes the day feel more special if you dress up.

What’s on your Christmas wish- list?

A nutri-bullet!

What do you love most about Christmas?

Eating all day and getting tipsy on port with my sisters!

ANNIE POLLET – Co-owner of IRIS

annie1

Where will you be spending Christmas?

This Christmas will be a very special one as I am having a baby, which is due on December 21st! I am very much hoping that I will be home for Christmas and dont get stranded in Queen Charlottes hospital! For Christmas I will be at home with my husband and my 15 year old twins Felix and Lola, and we will have my two step daughters for half of the day and then all of my extended family who will of course want to meet the new family addition. I am planning to have a big Ocado shop delivered, and then leave them all to the cooking, washing up etc as my hands will be full. I am actually really looking forward to this arrangement! I am however being very organised about my Christmas shopping this year, so that everything has been prepared in advance and I wont have to think about too much pre-Christmas.

What will you be wearing on Christmas day?

This depends on how together I am feeling post the birth! I would normally stay in pyjamas for the morning but definitely make an effort for lunch, though I always think Christmas day dressing needs to be comfortable so would probably veer towards a gorgeous festive top with jeans rather than be overly dressed up and formal. The velvet story that has just come in from the Iris own brandmakes for perfect Christmas day dressing,a gorgeous tunic dress and smock top in luxurious jewel colours which will make a perfect comfortable yet very festive outfit for Christmas day.

What’s on your Christmas wish list?

I am happy with lots of things for Christmas and love receiving books and any beauty treats people tend not to buy me clothes due to what I do for a living! My son went through a phase of giving me a different glass decoration for the Christmas tree every year, which was so sweet. Top of my wish list from my husband (though maybe a bit ambitious!) is an Eames soft pad chair to sit in at my computer. With maternity leave looming I will be spending quite a bit of time in front of my computer at home so a really comfortable chair would be amazing!

What do you love most about Christmas?

It would have to be the build-up, kids getting excited, the Christmas parties and then the quality family time that it gives you the opportunity to spend. We always do one theatre trip all of us together pre-Christmas and a family supper out on Christmas Eve. Christmas is so cosy as well getting time to cosy up at home with loved ones when it is freezing outside and then a good walk on Boxing day to blow away the cobwebs is lovely.

Where will you be spending Christmas?

We are spending Christmas in Wiltshire with my oldest friend and her family this year. I then have friends and family coming to us for New Year.

What will you be wearing on Christmas day?

I have just bought a new flame red wool overcoat which I will wear if we go out. I will dress up on Christmas Eve for dinner – I have my eye on the IRIS Masscob metallic top. I will probably wear a dress on Christmas day and then its pyjamas by 6 oclock for a TV fest!

What’s on your Christmas wish list?

I love getting really random presents which are a surprise like the year I was given an antique charm necklace and a portrait of my dog. Otherwise I like really useful things. I have bought a couple of the IRIS beautiful black suede drawstring bags for presents already and would love to be given one myself – or I have my eye on a bottle green Isabel Marant scarf.

What do you love most about Christmas?

I like the business of getting in contact with people you may not have been in touch with all year. Christmas is a great way of keeping friendships alive. Its a real family and friends time.

ANNA SINGH Co-founder of Chinti and Parker

AnnaSingh

Where will you be spending Christmas?

The Cotswolds I am excited to spend some time in the quaint English countryside.

What will you be wearing on Christmas Day?

Chinti and Parkers exclusive cashmere cape for Net-a-Porter for when we go out. I will dress up a little for dinner though – in an easy dress.

What’s on your Christmas wish-list?

Something monogrammed. And I suppose you can never have enough Diptyque candles.

What do you love most about Christmas?

Quite simply the fact that you get to spend a good chunk of quality time with your family, pay games, watch films, and eat all of your favourite foods. What could be better?

DEBORAH BRETT – STYLIST

Where will you be spending Christmas?

We always split our Christmas plans with both our families. So we celebrate the Jewish festival of Chanukah in London with my fathers family, and once my children break up from school we go to Germany to visit my mothers relatives where we celebrate Christmas Eve. Then we dash back to the UK and celebrate Christmas day with my husbands family in Kent!

What will you be wearing on Christmas Day?

Traditionally in Germany we always like to put on a pretty frock and dress up for Christmas Eve dinner. I love dressing my two daughters in something sparkly and my son has to wear a shirt and blazer. Last year I splurged on a high fashion piece and wore a red woodland animal print dress from Dolce and Gabbana. On Christmas day we try and stay in pyjamas for as long as possible. My kids are normally in something festive – this year Ive got them matching red tartan pyjamas from La Coqueta and Im normally in a slouchy grey cashmere sweater, grey marle sweat-pants and a pair of warm cashmere socks.

What’s on your Christmas wish- list?

I love anything Tom Dixon designs like his brass tea set or a few of his copper bowls. I also adore ceramics and would love to get three or four of WallFlower Londons teal and green glazed chrysanthemum and dahlias by ceramicist Vanessa Hogge, a pair of Wild thing stilettos in red by Aquazzura – they are so sexy, and more tassel bracelets by Marte Frisnes. I already have one but I get so many compliments when I wear it Id love to get a few more.

What do you love most about Christmas?

I love getting creative at Christmas, so for me its all about doing fun things with my children like making our own Knusper Haus – a gingerbread house which we cover with sweets. I love baking traditional German Christmas biscuits, making my own wreath to hang on our door and decorating our tree with as many baubles as possible.

HINA MOSS Founder of KIREI

hina

Where will you be spending Christmas?

In front of a roaring fire with family, friends and lots of Ottolenghi mince pies!

What will you be wearing on Christmas Day?

A Father Christmas jumper that my son gave me last year to cook the Christmas turkey, and then we all dress up for dinner. I will be wearing Kireis Sophia lace dress.

What’s on your Christmas wish- list?

Kireis suede poncho and some Stella McCartney boots!

What do you love most about Christmas?

Family and being together.

What is your design inspiration this season?

Clean simple lines with a seventies influence in some areas. Longer belted coats, pussy bow ties in palest silks – perfect for layering. Beautiful sharp shifts, shorter coats in gorgeous bright colours too.

I keep things pretty simple. Core wardrobe essentials which I can easily interchange and accessorise ; jeans, trousers (crop, peg and flared) and I always have a beautiful coat.

Goat3 Goat2 Goat1

The Allegra jacket is the perfect trans-seasonal cover-up. In versatile grey, the super soft cardigan can be paired with either tailored trousers or jeans.

The Amy sweater is the perfect addition to your capsule wardrobe. It looks great with both denim for an off-duty look, or tailored trousers for a more formal look.

The Anoushka knit coat is perfect to throw on over anything. I really love the geometric intarsia pattern and its retro feel. It’s a tailored approach to knitwear which creates such a strong silhouette which makes it so flattering.

Do Invest in good underwear. It’s scaffolding.

DoStay true to your own style.

Rachel:“I love the American Vintage trench coat – it fits really well on the shoulders, and is a real classic. I know I will still love it in years to come and it will last. The Penelope Chilvers black velvet flats are lovely – they look great with cropped trousers, or in Winter with skirts. They’re a nice alternative to wearing boots.”

American Vintage: Classic Belted Trench Coat Penelope Chilvers: Dandy Dur Slippers

Bex:“My two top picks are the IRIS cashmere joggers and the grey tweed Jerome Dreyfuss bag. I love the joggers as they are the perfect Winter wardrobe essential. You could dress them up with Isabel Marant Dicker boots for a luxe look, or dress them down with Marant Bart trainers. I love the size of the Jerome Dreyfuss bag and all of its compartments. I also love the fact it has a mirror in it! It would be perfect for a country walk or out in the city.”

Nadia: “I love the Illy maxi dress from ba&sh and the Louise Misha Siberia cream top. I love the detail around the sleeves of the top, the creamy gold colour and its the perfect length to wear with jeans. You can dress it up or down. I love the print of the ba&sh dress. In Winter I’d wear it with a cardigan and tights and boots or trainers, and in Summer with flat sandals and a leather jacket.

Guest Stylist LAURA FANTACCI Knitwear Special

Laura picks of her favourite knits at IRIS

“I have an obsession with jumpers. After 20 years of living in London, I now just want to be warm and comfortable! I often find that people pay very little attention to buying jumpers. Over the years, I have built up a sweater wardrobe crew necks, scoop necks, polo necks etc. Think about what you need. Don’t make the mistake of buying them too tight, which can actually make you look larger – better to take a size up, especially with an open weave.”

A.P.C. Burgundy Knit, ISABEL MARANT Sevan Floral skirt:

LFknit1

“Burgundy is very on trend and flatters most colourings. If you’re scared of wearing colour -this is a good neutral to try. It looks great with red, tan and white. The contrast of the chunky knit and delicate skirt is lovely. This look would work equally well on the school run as it would in the office. I love the fringing on this bag, and its also a really good size. It’s a good bag for day and you could swap it with a glittery clutch for an evening look.”

Iris Cashmere polo neck, Isabel Marant Eco leather leggings:

LFKN4

“Polo necks are back in fashion this season. This one is a great shape and made from super soft cashmere. It’s boxy and longer at the back, which makes it perfect to go over leggings. It’s a perfect wardrobe staple. Leather leggings are a great alternative to jeans. I often get asked if women in their 40’s can wear them, and if they’re appropriate – and I always say yes, absolutely. They give you the same versatility as jeans and these ones have an elasticated waist so they’re really comfortable. Pair them with a white shirt, a luxe cashmere jumper and flat shoes for an easy everyday look. Remember to choose matte ones if they’re faux leather.”

“I love the fringing on this bag, and it’s also a really good size.”

IRIS TREKS TO MACHU PICCHU TO CHALLENGE CANCER

From London to Bogota to Lima to Cusco after 24 hours from door to door Sarah (Iris MD) and Rachel (Website co-ordinator) landed in South America, however with only one of two suitcases…

Last week after months of fundraising and anticipation, wearrived in Peru where we were joined by other individuals from the UK and Canada, to form a group of 22 – all ranging in ages and supporting a variety of charities. We are overwhelmed by the support we have received for our chosen charity, Challenge Cancer UK, and have raised almost 8,000 between us.

We arrived in Cusco, the heart of the ancient Inca world, where we met our Peruvian guide George to begin our incredible adventure. The week long trek saw us undertake a trail across the Andean mountains with the changing altitude and unpredictable weather only adding to the test!

We began our trek in Lares at 3250m, a small town renowned for it’s natural hot springs, a welcome break from the cold weather found in Cusco. Gradually we gained height and distance and found ourselves at one of the many tiny schools found in the remote mountainous areas. Here we stopped to meet the young children, who were ever-so grateful for the presents we left. Fruit and simple toys such as Frisbees and skipping ropes brought huge smiles to their faces.

peru1

Over the course of the afternoon we gained altitude and trekked to our campsite for the night, which was situated at another school in Cancani – at an altitude of 4220m. Temperatures at night dropped down to minus 10 so it was a very very cold night and we were incredibly grateful for the advice to take thermals and thermal sleeping bag liners!

peru2

Our biggest surprise on the trip was definitely the food. Prior to the trip we were sceptical after imagining that we’d be served guinea pig for lunch and supper every day, so we were happy to find out that only through choice would we try the local dishes such as ceviche and alpaca (which tastes rather like beef as you may imagine).

The next day we took a steep and rocky path towards the top of a mountain path which gave spectacular views down the valley and at a height of over 4800m, we began to feel the effects of the altitude.

peru3

Camp Huacahuasi was our planned home for the night, although it was short lived when we were told of a national strike that had been called across the entire country. The Peruvians don’t do strikes in half measures and they tend to block all the roads with large boulders making it impossible for individuals to travel. We therefore had to pack up and embark on a 5 hour bus journey down incredibly steep mountain roads in complete darkness.

We awoke the next morning to the most impressive view of snow-capped mount Veronica, blue skies and corn fields that stretched for miles down the valley. We had arrived at Ollantaytambo, a town within reach of Machu Picchu. Due to the significantly lower altitude of 2850m it was a completely different environment with 30 degree heat and plenty of mosquitos to accompany it!

peru4

Over the following few days we trekked the area surrounding the town and staying clear of mosquito bites and sun-stroke became the priority.

peru5

On Friday we eventually reached the lost ancient city of the Incas and our end goal Machu Picchu. It’s almost impossible to put into words and capture in one picture how amazing and magical it is. Exploring the lost world and taking it all in is breath taking. To think that it was once an ancient civilisation on top of a mountain is hard to comprehend. If ever you have the chance to go then you must, especially if you have the opportunity to trek there as opposed to taking the easy tourist route!

peru6

Over the week we met many new faces and it put everything into perspective when we heard the stories from those we were traveling with. Some have battled cancer twice and recovered while others were given just months to live over five years ago and are thankfully still with us today. We feel such a level of accomplishment to have succeeded in not just the trek but in raising such a huge amount for the charity. So a massive thanks to everyone who has helped us on this amazing adventure.

Guest Stylist LAURA FANTACCI: Winter White

IRIS is delighted to have teamed up with super stylist Laura Fantacci of must-read wearing it today blog, and co founder of Wardrobe Icons. In our three part series, Laura picks her favourite pieces from IRIS, and shows how to buy into the new season’s trends.

LF13

Winter White

“At London Fashion Week last year, I bought a white coat. I thought it would be totally impractical, but it turned out to be an instant outfit enhancer and not impractical at all. It gives you an amazing glow – perfect to make the most of a fading tan! It looks particularly great with denim, grey and tan.”

MASSCOB: Cream Wool Coat

“I love the simplicity of this coat. It’s not too precious – there are no lapels, no buttons. The fact that it hasn’t got any detail means it won’t date, so a great investment buy. It would look great with faded denim and flats. I love layering white on white in the Winter.”

LF7

ALOE: Adelina Silk Top

“I hate things that are clingy. This top fits perfectly on the shoulders then flares out. The lace detail gives it a romantic feel, which is a big trend this season. I also love how the sleeves sit on the arm.”

LF11

MASSCOB:Chunky Alpaca Knit

“Denim with white always looks very cool. I like the idea of pairing a boyfriend jean with a smarter shoe and a relaxed sweater – it creates a lovely balance. This is a perfect look for the weekend – you could pair it with flats for a more casual feel.”

LF1

ISABEL MARANT: Pealman Dalmation High Heel

“These Isabel Marant heels are the most comfortable shoes. She does this style every season. They have a leg lengthening effect – and I really like the subtle animal print.”

Laura on Jewellery:

“Last season it was all about the earrings – this season its all about the wrists! I love layering up bracelets – it prolongs the gypsy, Summer holiday look. The Isabel Marant jewellery is a great price point too.”

Winter Coats

With the Indian Summer drawing to a close, now’s the time to invest in a Winter coat. Here, guest stylist Laura Fantacci chooses her favourite ones from IRIS.

Winter Coats

“A simple classic pea coat should be one of your wardrobe icons. I love the boxy shape and discreet buttons on this one. It looks equally good over jeans as it would over dresses. I love the whole preppy look of putting it over jeans and a Breton top. But it would work equally well over a boho top and leather leggings, or over a tea dress for the weekend. It’s the perfect multi-tasker. This pleated Isabel Marant shirt is a really good jeans top. The print is great, and it’s a lovely floaty shape. One thing I always advise my clients is to wear your coat over your shoulders. Lots of fashion editors do this it means you don’t have to cover your outfit. It’s a great confidence boost for when youre walking into a meeting.”

Laurapcoat7

On Trend Capes

“If you’re looking for more of a trend led piece, try a cape, which were big at the Burberry show this season. At first, I didn’t think they would work on petite frames, but paired with slim trousers, they work really well. I love the practicality of it. It creates a look without being fussy. The pattern is lovely if it were plain black or navy, it would make it smarter, but this one is more casual – great for the weekend with skinny jeans and flats.”

What is your design inspiration this season?

Traditional fishermans and grandfather knits inspired the different textures within our knitwear. The hues of natural gemstones as well as the works of Paul Klee inspired our use of graphic colour patterns.

What is your signature style?

It’s classic, but leaning towards boyish. I like contrast, for example soft feminine fabrics, but with masculine tailoring. And I clearly love a good cashmere sweater!

What are your top three pieces from the current collection?

The Star Sweater in our fresh new colourway, the Split-Hem Breton Sweater – it has a very flattering effect, and the Colour Block Sweater for the bold yet discreet pop of pink.

Top three fashion dos and donts?

Stripes are always a good idea. Never wear too much of one thing when it comes to looks, and always remove one accessory before you leave the house. The last one comes from Coco Chanel, and is actually very useful for all women prone to over-accessorising!

Oversize knitwear

Cream coats

Take a break from the usual navy and black, and break up your wardrobe with a pop of Winter white. We love the Masscob cream wool coat.

Prints and colour

Florals, checks, animal prints, clashing prints – anything goes this season. From Sessun’s ditsy florals to geometric prints at Ba&sh, there is something for everyone. Colour wise, there are lots of rich emeralds and maroons. If ever there was a season to try colour, this is it!

Stylist: DEBORAH BRETT Holiday Special Part 3

In our final part of Deborah Brett’s holiday special, she focuses on what to take on a Summer beach holiday with her favourite pieces from IRIS.

“What I love about Summer holidays is that you have the chance to dress like a totally different person. You can be more colourful, more feminine and show a different side of yourself to your normal day-to-day life. You should cherry pick beautiful pieces – these clothes are things to treasure over the years. They only come out for a few weeks a year so will last really well”.

Look 1:

BA&SH Lauren Silver Print Dress with IRIS Leather Strap Wedge Espadrille

“This is a perfect day dress. It’s a delicate colour with fine silver detailing, and a very simple shape so super easy to wear. It looks equally good with espadrilles or flats. You could throw it on over a bikini or head out to a restaurant. I’d wear this in London too – with a pair of Isabel Marant Dicker boots, and with a denim jacket over the top, it would work well in to the Autumn too.”

Look 2:

IRISCheesecloth Jumpsuit, ELENA LEBESSI,Woven Thong Sandal,STARMELAPom Pom scarf

“Jumpsuits are fun, easy pieces. I have loads – mainly in black. Pop on a jumpsuit when you don’t know what else to wear – they’re comfortable and lightweight. You could wear it out during the day and smarten it up for evening. I love these flats – you can see that they’re handcrafted, they’re a bit different and they’ll set you apart from everyone else. This scarf adds a pop of colour – I love bright colours in the Summer! It’s super versatile – you could lie on it on the beach, use it as a sarong – it’s perfect to take on the plane when it can get quite chilly. I also love wrapping scarves round my bags to add colour.”

Maxi dresses are always a holiday staple. They’re super easy to wear and take you from the beach to a dinner in town. They look effortlessly cool with flats and are great for when you are ready to show off bronzed skin. This one has a gold sparkle which gives it a Summer evening feel. The Sophie Anderson bag adds a pop of colour. I like wearing her bags in the city too – they add a touch of cool to a city look.”

These never go out of fashion. I love picking them up in markets and finding lovely vintage ones. I also love anything with pompoms! As an alternative to the kaftan, I’ve recently moved on to wearing an oversized shirt– so clean and crisp, I love that look.

Stylist: DEBORAH BRETT Holiday special part 2

In part two of our Summer holiday special, stylist and fashion editor, Deborah Brett, picks her favourite pieces from IRIS for a British seaside holiday. “The British weather can be very precarious, so you have to embrace whatever it throws atyou. You need to be more practical with a holiday in the UK , but that doesnt mean compromising on style. A great pair of boyfriend jeans for long walks on the beach, a new take on the fishermans sweater the key is comfort and layering”.

I love these dark denim boyfriend jeans they have a workwear feel. A peasant top is a wardrobe staple they never really go out of fashion and just happen to be on trend this season. I love them and collect vintage ones. Wear them down to the beach, over a bikini, with denim cut offs they’re so versatile. Back home, they work well with a pair of flares and statement earrings for an evening look. I love straw baskets I have tons of them, and I like decorating my own with pom poms.

Look 2

Star Mela top, Frame Boyfriend jeans , Elena Lebessi shoes

Nothing is fresher than wearing white on holiday, and I absolutely love this embroidered top. I love anything with a vintage tablecloth feel like something you might pick up in a French market. With a pair of jeans and nice flats – its so simple. These jeans would also look fabulous with an oversized shirt.

Look 3:

Sessun jumper, ACNEboyfriend jeans, Jerome Dreyfus tie dyebag

I love the blue of this jumper, the cotton knit is perfect for Summer and its the perfect update on the classic fishermans sweater. Its an easy English Summer look. Layer it up with a linen tee underneath. This Jerome Dreyfus bag is gorgeous with the tie dye leather.

With boyfriend jeans, I like the idea of mixing masculine and feminine, so would pair them with something femininelike a Victoriana shirt or broderie anglaise top. I’d put a tuxedo or unstructured jacket over the top it gives it a very modern look. I love flares too and like wearing double denim, with a fitted denim shirt. Cropped jeans like the MiH Paris jean give a French 60s vibe. They look great with brogues or ballerinas , an oversized sweater, or a trench over a simple t-shirt.

Stylist: DEBORAH BRETT Holiday Special Part 1

Stylist and fashion editor Deborah Brett chooses her favourite pieces from IRIS for a three-part holiday special. Get the perfect looks and hassle free packing tips in our guide to looking chic this Summer.

DB10PART ONE – CITY BREAK

If I’m going on a city break, I always stick to a tight colour palette. It means you have to put more thought into the packing, but when you get there, you can go on auto-pilot because you know that everything works together. It maybe a palette of black and white, or blues, whites and denim. Take a clutch or bag that goes with everything. Keep it concise.

OUT AND ABOUT

I love these relaxed IRIS Drawstring pants they’re like a grown up tracksuit but perfect for travelling in. Very comfortable, but also really elegant too. And this BA&SHslouchy white tuxedo is amazing – it instantly makes the look more modern. Remember to roll up the sleeves. The Paris tee is super cute – I love a logo! With the Donchoo clutch you’re good to go.

EVENING OUT

This is a perfect go-to dress for a city break. Perfect for day with flats and a cross-body bag, and then dress it up for evening withespadrilles and a pair of gold hoop earrings. I like to stack my rings, and layer up my bracelets and necklaces. Both the dress and the bag are good sale buys as they are great trans-seasonal pieces they don’t just work in Summer, but all year round. The dress would work equally well going in to Autumn with tights, even a polo neck underneath and knee high boots for a 70s vibe. I love the Jerome Dreyfuss tote big enough to chuck everything in, light-weight and it has a shoulder strap and handle, which very useful. It would be a great bag for work too.

Designer Spotlight

Stephanie Vaille

After working for numerous brands, Stephanie Vaille launched her eponymous label. Her summer collection of dreamy chiffon prints and boho separates was inspired by travels to North Africa. Here she talks to IRIS about her work and summer holiday.

How would you describe your style? StephanievailleportraitMy style is a mixture of nomad bohemian spirit, a touch of glamour and a hint of rock’n’roll .

What is your design inspiration this season?I am always inspired by my travels. This season, it was the artisanal heritage of North Africa : moucharabieh embroidery, geometrical weaving, a modern interpretation of traditional mosaics on colourful prints.

What are your favourite pieces? The Zed embroidered ivory tunic is beautiful, and I love the Satine dress – so romantic. I also love the CStephanieVailleFW1516_0161_V1asablanca chiffon top so easy to wear.

Where are you going on holiday this Summer? This summer I’m going to Biarritz in South West France, I really love it there. The food is so good, I can surf, rest, and read my book on the beautiful beach. My favourite place for shopping is an amazing shop called Miaow, where you can find a very nice selection of womenswear. I always go to Le Bar du March, the best place for a drink and tapas. And Les Halles is the place to go in the mornings: its a huge market where you can sample typical food and drink.

Top packing tips? K Jacques sandals, one of my own kimonos and Oliver Peoples sunglasses.

What are your favourite Iris labels? K Jacques, Isabel Marant and ACNE Describe your favourite holiday look from the Iris collection? I love the cheesecloth silver sparkle sun-dress. I’d wear it with the small leather tassel bag.

Top three fashion tips? Match your handbag to your shoes Wear long maxi dresses during summer with sandals Accessories always give a great silhouette – a glam touch’.

Iris opens in Amersham

In very exciting developments at Iris, we have just opened a new store! The new Iris is situated in the beautiful and historic high street in Amersham Old Town. We have so many Iris customers who have moved or are moving out to areas just outside London for a bit of country living, more space, good schools etc but who have said to us that they desperately miss Iris and all of the fantastic brands we stock. We therefore decided rather than force these poor women to trek to London for some decent retail therapy we would bring Iris to their doorsteps instead!

Iris In Amersham

This is our fourth store opening and coincides nicely with the 10 year anniversary of Iris, born in Queens Park 10 whole years ago now but more about our birthday celebrations another time…

Beautiful, light and airy, the look and feel of the new store is just like our existing branches. We have made a few forays to Kempton Market to find gorgeous vintage pieces for the store and it has all really come together perfectly –  but most importantly, we will be stocking all the same fabulous brands such as Acne, Masscob, Ba&sh, Chinti & Parker, Humanoid and Soeur along with a great selection of kidswear and beauty and gifting treats too.

Inside

We opened on May 1st and had a week to settle in before our official launch day on May 8th. We had a fantastic reaction from the locals and had customers from all around the surrounding area pop in for champagne cakes and of course some shopping!

Come and visit soon if you are in the area.

Isabel Marant is the name that is now associated with being the IT girl designer of insouciant French chic. Her designs embody an understated, minimalist sexy ethos which never fails to have commercial appeal and her huge popularity is showing no signs of waning. Her collection for S/S 14, which has just hit the shop floor at Iris, is already selling fast. For this collection, Marant has introduced a soft, girlier influence with a lot of print and sheer, floaty fabric dresses in beautiful , vibrant colours. Our best-selling ZAVIA dress and ZINYA top are perfect examples. She has counter -balanced the femininity with her signature sharp shoulder blazers and natty tweed jackets and put in some signature ethnic influences with her BEVERLEY kaftan dress and BELA smock top. Marant has also introduced some on-trend metallic leather to her footwear and snakeskin too with her PEAS high-heeled pump, whilst not forgetting the perennially popular Dicker Boots and the new revamped JENNY boot – the CRISI suede ankle boot with the cleverly concealed wedge heel (a signature design) from a designer who just seems to know exactly what we want to wear; be it on the school run or for a glam night on the town….We love.

All available in store now at Iris with lots more of the collection on its way very soon…

Fashion News: Aloe collaborates with & Other Stories

&-OTHER-STORIES / ALOE

We were very excited to hear that one of our popular designers Aloe is to collaborate with high style label & Other Stories at the end of August. The collection will be designed by Claire Judge, the creative behind the beautiful and elegant loungewear brand Aloe.

This collection consists of lingerie and loungewear inspired by pieces dancers wear during a warm up. With a neutral colour palette, the loungewear is meant to layer over the lingerie with widely cut necklines to expose the coloured ribbon straps of camisoles and bras.

The range can double as ready-to-wear, with styles including a black silk kimono which also works as a tuxedo jacket, while track lounge pants can be paired with heels.

We are looking forward to seeing the collaborative collection!

Stay tuned to find out when our Aloe AW13 collection arrives in all three of our stores.
